Commercial Loan Accountant

Job Description/Responsibilities
This position is for a Loan Documentation Specialist in Wholesale Loan Services. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of loan documentation duties on the most complex loan packages to ensure financial and covenant compliance reporting requirements are maintained.  Functions include reviewing, understanding and interpreting commercial loan credit agreements.
 
Responsibilities:
 
1) Review commercial loan agreements, amendments, etc to identify financial reporting and covenant compliance requirements.
2) Interpret financial reporting requirements and build ticklers in ETRAC to monitor receipt of all financial statements submitted by commercial customers.
3) Interpret financial covenants and, utilizing Excel, build a compliance certificate (certificate of compliance) for customer reporting.
4) Identify negative covenants to be included in the customers’ compliance certificate (certificate of compliance). 
5) Monitor daily work volumes to ensure service levels are maintained.
6) As needed work with management, credit analysts or field office personnel to assist in interpreting complex legal documents.
7) Support other team members to meet overall department efficiency and productivity goals.
 
Basic Qualifications
1-2+ years experience in customer service, loan administration, collections, or sales
environment.
 
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years experience in a commercial lending function with focus on loan documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret commercial loan credit agreements and knowledge of financial covenants
- Intermediate or Advanced Excel knowledge.
-Experience with commercial loan products and services. 
-Proficient with desktop technology and software including Word, Excel.
-Ability to plan, prioritize and execute a body of work without ongoing supervision, given an overall or high level goal
-Must be able to organize verbal and written communication to clarify purpose and importance.
 
Preferred Skills
- Undergraduate degree with major in Business Administration or related field such as Accounting, Finance or Economics.
